PREPARING FOR YOUR LASH APPOINTMENT

ARRIVE MAKEUP FREE.

Your lash artist needs a completely clean canvas to work with, which means no mascara, concealer, foundation, shadow or skincare product of any kind around the eye area.

COME COZY.

Keep in mind that you’re going to be lying down for up to two hours or more. Dress in comfortable clothing that won’t require constant adjusting.

USE THE RESTROOM.

Use the restroom before your lash artist begins your service to avoid interruptions to your allotted appointment time and your artists’ flow.

COME WITH PHOTO INSPIRATION.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so bring photos of the lash extension looks you like.

MAKE A PLAYLIST.

If you want to listen to music or a podcast to pass the time, just give your esthetician the okay to remove your headphones or earbuds for you if she needs to communicate with you.

KNOW YOUR ALLERGIES.

Lash extensions are safe but there can be risks in regards to allergies. For example, latex and various adhesives used could be an irritant for some. Always discuss ingredients and history of reactions with your lash artist prior to your service beginning.

AFTERCARE TIPS

AVOID GETTING THEM WET IN THE FIRST 48 HOURS.

Avoid all contact with water and steam within the first 48 hours after having your extensions applied.

DON’T USE CLEANSERS CONTAINING OIL.

Do not use any oil based facial cleansers while you are wearing lash extensions. This includes makeup removers, facial oils and oil-serum hybrids, as oil causes glue to dissolve and lashes to fall out.

DON’T STAND UNDER THE SHOWERHEAD TOO LONG.

The weight of the falling water can lead to premature breakage. Instead, gently and quickly splash your face with your hands, avoiding direct contact with eyes.

DON’T FORGET TO BRUSH.

In general, lashes need to be brushed every so often with a spoolie brush but after the shower it’s especially important to help remove excess water.

SLEEP ON YOUR SIDE.

If you’re a stomach sleeper, your lashes are more than likely being pressed into and rubbed against your pillow, which will speed up fallout and breakage.

AVOID RUBBING.

The more you touch, tug and rub your eyes, the weaker your extensions become and the more likely they are to fall out and break off (taking your natural lashes with them) ahead of your touch up schedule.

DON’T USE AN EYELASH CURLER.

NEVER EVER use a mechanical eyelash curler on your lash extensions. If your lashes lose some of their curl, use a HEATED EYELASH CURLER to gently lift them until your touch up appointment day.
